Letter of the Week – Our chosen letter for our next session is ‘m’! Please can your child bring in an item which has an ‘m’.
Makaton – This is a language using signs and symbols; we are going to learn ‘sorry’
Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have been creating lots of ladybirds & have made ladybird biscuits. We’ve measured our sunflowers. We’ve played some ring games. We’ve had a look at different life cycles.
Playhouse Activities Next Session – Next week we are going to be reading the Sun Safe story .. Slip, Slop slap! Sam is very interested in Egyptians so we’ll be dressing up as mummies. Our school ready children will also have a look at Egyptian letters. We’ll talk about keeping fit and how exercise effects our bodies. We’ll also have an ice cream parlour! We have our first Stay & Play session.
Storytime – On Tuesday next week Mrs Bacon will be visiting the Playhouse for Storytime, as she starts to meet our Rising Fives.
Chicken Pox – Our case of chicken pox has been confirmed. Please watch out for any symptoms!
Can you help? – If you have any of the following items which you no longer need, please can we have them: bowls, mugs, phones, plates, coffee tea and sugar canisters and pictures for our home corner. Thank you. We also need magazines for the children to cut and use.
Dates for your Diary – Here are a few dates for your diary:
27th June from 9.00am – 10.00am Stay & Play sessions Parents, carers and Grandparents are welcome to our Stay & Play sessions, you have the opportunity for an insight into your child’s day.
18th July 1.00pm – 3.15pm Pre-school Party: If your child is not in on this day you can book your child into the Preschool session or you can come in and stay with your child.
19th July 1.45pm – Leavers Parents Only: You are invited into the Playhouse at 1.45pm.
NEW: School Leavers / Rising Fives Only: 20th June at 1.00pm, we will be having our school leavers photo. If your child is going to school in September and not normally in on this day, please can you bring them in for this photo.
Small Talk Project – The Literacy Trust have launched a ‘small talk project’ to help parents boost their child’s language skills at home. We’ll attach the details to our Weekly Update email if you would like to have a look.
