Blue Books
The Blue book is used for you to update us on information about your child for example – if you have had a busy weekend and they might be tired or if you are picking up early etc.. We will add information regarding their day and if they have had any WOW moments that have been added to the Wow Tree.
Library
The library books from the Peterborough Library van are changed every term to ensure we have plenty of variety within Preschool and this helps prevent your child bringing the same book home every week. Your child will have their book changed once a week but, we do find that some children like to change their book on a more regular basis.
Letter of the Week
The purpose of the Letter of the Week is to teach and reinforce basic phonic knowledge. It gives you the opportunity to have fun hunting for things that begin with the chosen letter at home. Within Preschool at circle time, the children share what they have brought in and take part in games related to the letter. It is important to use the phonic sound for the letters as this is the foundation for your child’s journey of learning how to read.
Colour of the week
Colour of the week is to help your child learn their colours and it is the same process as Letter of the Week. We will discuss this at circle time and your child can take part in a colour hunt game to help them learn about the colour.
