This Week – It has felt a bit like Santa’s Workshop this week in the OOSC with all the Christmas activities which have been taking place. Everyone has been keeping super busy. The children have been using boxes to make gingerbread houses and stables for our nativity scene. We also made some cardboard gingerbread men, decorating them using paints. We have been using special glass painting pens to decorate jars – the children worked really hard and came up with some amazing festive designs. We painted our salt dough decorations which we made last week. We designed and made our Christmas crackers, complete with jokes and snaps. Some of the children ventured out to play in the fresh air! We had lots of Christmas craft with paper stars and snowflakes, along with amazing Christmas jumper designs. Some of our older children watched Elf!
Next Week – Next week we will continue with our ‘Christmas’ theme and we have lots of festive activities planned. We will have all the following activites for every session: Football, festive quiz,  colouring and finishing off our salt dough decorations!

Monday – We will start the week making cloud dough, this is made using flour and oil and is a great sensory activity. We will use the cloud dough to enhance our snow scenes. We will also use lego and figures from around the playhouse to bring them to life! We will finish decorating our cardboard gingerbread men.
Tuesday –
We will continue with our glass painting. The children are loving this activity. We will be making xmas decorations: paper chains, snowflakes, stars and much more!
Wednesday – We will be holding our Christmas Party with party food and party games to celebrate Christmas & the end of term!
Thursday – We will be having a festive movie evening with popcorn and hot dogs for a nice relaxing afternoon, it’s going to be a busy week.
Friday – We will be making our Xmas table decorations using foliage from local gardens, with their permission, of course! We will also make some festive Christmas pom poms with lots of glittering wool, they’ll be other xmas decorations to make and take home. And lots of festive music for those wanting to have a Christmas dance!

Outside activities all week: There will be connect 4, giant Duplo, the mud kitchen, construction vehicles, football and Meccano along with our role play tray.
