By October 22, 2021 Uncategorized No Comments

Dear Parents / Carers

Playhouse Activities This Week – Thank you so much for all the amazing spooky outfits. We created a spell using blood, spiders and mostly things around the Playhouse garden. The ideas for the spells were to create a giant snake and spider. For our snack, we made ghost biscuits; they didn’t last long  !! This week there has been Halloween playdough. We’ve been comparing sizes and we’ve been playing Bus lotto. We’ve loved the Autumn weather .. we’ve been using ribbons and streamers in the wind. The children enjoyed running with the wind and working out which direction it was coming from!

Forest School – We will catch up with Forest School after half term.

Playhouse Activities After Half Term – Next term we will be looking at Fireworks and staying safe. We will be talking about caring for animals and we will also celebrate Diwali; The Festival of light.  We will be learning about this Hindu festival and how the Hindu’s celebrate around the world. We will be tasting Indian foods and we’ll be making Indian elephants and creating our own temples. On 5th November, we will be having a story and hot chocolate around the fire.

Zoolab – We will be having a visit from Zoolab on Wednesday 10th November from 1.30pm – 2.30pm. If your child is not normally in on a Wednesday and you would like them to join us, please let us know.

Home activity – This week’s home activity is to create your own magic potions! There are lot of ideas on Tapestry for you. Have lots of fun & be messy!

Halloween Photos – We would love to see your Halloween outfits … please can you take a photo of your child’s Halloween outfit and we will share them with their friends after half term.

Reminder: Half Term – It’s Half term next week. If you would like a reminder of our Term dates, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We re-open on Monday 1st November 2021.

Any help? – Please do not hesitate to speak to staff if you have any concerns or would just like a catch up, we are always available.

Nearly New Sale – Don’t forget to contact Rachel Higginbotham or Alexa Hall if you are interested in their Nearly New Sale being held in November.

Firework Safety – With many organised Firework displays cancelled again this year, many families will be going it alone at home. Do you know how to buy fireworks safely and avoid unlicensed sellers? Do you know what precautions to take to avoid a serious accident? What would you do if the worst happened? If you would like any help or guidance, please visit the Child Accident Prevention Trust website: Firework Safety | Home | Child Accident Prevention Trust (capt.org.uk)

Have a lovely Half term and Halloween!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
