Dear Parents / Carers
This Week – Our Christmas activities started this week with a gingerbread theme in the OOSC. The children decorated large cardboard gingerbread houses with drawings, cut-outs, candy canes, gingerbread men and ‘snow’ on the roof. They used spice-scented salt dough to create decorations which they will be painting and bringing home to put on their own Christmas trees. Beautiful paper snowflakes have been cut out and decorated with paint and glitter and tinfoil. Ribbon and glitter have been used to make some unusual decorations for the Playhouse too! Christmas charades has been very popular this week and we have been playing Christmas songs to get us all in the festive mood!
Next week – Next week we will be setting up a post office for our role play. We will also have other festive activities, including decoration making.
Christmas Crafts – On 18th December 2020 we will be running a Christmas craft session. The session will run from 2:30-3:30pm and the cost will be £3.82 including a drink and biscuit. If you would like your child to join us please drop us an email. If your child is already booked in for a Friday OOSC session they will already be booked in for this session, there is nothing extra to pay. For extra sessions, please make your payment via Bacs into the Playhouse account, with the reference: ‘Craft’ and your child’s name as reference e.g. ‘Craft J Smith’ by 18th December 2020 with your payment.
Reminder: OOSC Christmas Party – We will be holding two Christmas Parties this year, KS1 and KS2. KS1 will be held on Wednesday 16th December and KS2 will be held on Tuesday 15th December. If your child does not normally attend on those dates and you would like him/her to attend the Christmas Party please feel free to book them in for that session, please just send us an email.
