OOSC – Weekly Update 25th September 2020

By September 25, 2020 News No Comments

Dear Parents / Carers

Important Updates:
Slippers & layers – Due to the current situation we need to keep the Playhouse well ventilated, this means keeping the doors and windows open. Please ensure that your child has slippers, crocs or sliders (anything clean you have at home to slip on their feet) to keep their feet warm. Please can you remind your child to wear a cardigan or jumper when they are at OOSC too. Most children wear one as part of their school uniform but if they come to school in their PE kit please make sure they have an additional layer to wear. Many thanks.
Social Distancing – This is just a polite reminder that we all still need to socially distance when arriving at the Playhouse, this includes our Playhouse staff when they collect and drop off your child. Please remain behind the ‘safe’ social distance line on the path. Thank you.

This Week – We’ve been lucky to have another week of outdoor fun in OOSC. Our younger children have played with Mr Potato Head, dinosaurs, and the outside construction area. They also had flying races with paper airplanes. Our older children have been drawing and playing with Lego, Knex and the outdoor equipment in the big garden where they have also enjoyed many games of manhunt.

Next week – Next week we will be tidying the garden ready for the winter, and we will continue to enjoy the outdoors.

Library – We also have an update for you and your child from our Library Monitors, they have been working really hard to make sure the library can reopen safely:

Dear Parents & Carers
We have some very good news! On Monday 28th September our Library will reopen! When you bring a book back it will be corentinted (quarantined). We will also be limiting our numbers to six.
Our library rules are:
Socile distencing (social distancing) between the bubbles, no pens or pencils upstairs. Be respectful towards the books and the library monitors, No shouting. Sanitising before coming in.
Hope we see you soon.

A message for children borrowing books, please can you share this with your child:

Dear friend
We are so happy that you borrowed a book from our library. But … please could you return it as soon as you can as we really need it back. Or you could please give it to Emily Lawson, Poppy Walls, Lacey Carter or Maddy Bunn. They are the Library monitors and will be in our library all the time. When you do return your book please don’t put it back on the shelf as this book will need to be signed in and corentined (quarantined).
Thank you.
Emily, Poppy, Maddy and Lacey

Have a lovely weekend, stay safe and well!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
