Dear Parents / Carers

Please find below this week’s Weekly Update. We hope you are all keeping safe and well.

This Week – This week we have been building on the children’s interests, they have really enjoyed construction and have made some amazing creations. They have enjoyed lots of outdoor play; we have been bug hunting and creating homes for bugs using natural objects. The children have enjoyed creating patterns with chalk. They have also enjoyed building on their fine motor skills using playdough.

Next week – Next week we will continue to expand on the children’s interests, and we will have freely chosen activities. We will also play musical instruments to broaden on their interest and enjoyment in music!

Rising Fives – Just a reminder to let us know the sessions you need in September. We will then be able to review our availability to see if we can help.

Tapestry Activities – Rachel has shared two activities for you this week. For our Rising Fives, there is information for parents to support your child’s transition into school with a checklist of useful skills to help prepare for school. For all children: There is an activity on dancing! The children have really enjoyed singing and dancing this week and we thought it would be lovely for the children to have a boogie with you at home! This activity will build on their physical skills and expressive arts & design. Please share any of your child’s dance moves on Tapestry if you can, we would love to see them or maybe your child might like to sing us a song! We have also attached a copy of the Early Start Parents Guide for you

Forest School – This week our Forest school is all about ice play. Amanda has shared the following activity: Why not pop out for a walk or an amble around your garden, collect flowers, leaves or stones and freeze them in different containers. You can use ice cube trays, cake moulds or whatever you have available. Allow the children to explore how to melt and open the container to discover what is inside. Did you know tap water is cloudy when frozen but cooled boiled water is clear?! Have fun!

Tapestry Journals – Rising Fives – Watch out on Tapestry as you will soon be able to download your child’s Tapestry Journal. You will have the option to save &/or print the Journal but, you will only have 28 days to complete this before the journal is ‘auto deleted’.

Have a lovely weekend, stay safe and well!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
