By June 19, 2020 News No Comments

Dear Parents / Carers

Please find below this week’s Weekly Update. We hope you are all keeping safe and well.

This Week – We have continued to make light sabres! We have enjoyed playing in the rain. We’ve been role playing, colouring and playing Pokemon. We have ensured that all the children are happy and are having fun! We have had marble runs and we’ve had a sweet shop at the Playhouse where we used flowers from the garden to enhance our role play.

Next week – Next week we will link into Rachel’s tapestry activities below and we’ll have a look at people who help us in the community and the world around us.

Weather – The weather is very changeable so please don’t forget to wear wellies if it’s raining and a sun hat and sun cream if it’s warmer. If it is going to be a hot day, please apply sun cream before you come to the Playhouse. Thank you, this is a great help!

Learning Journals – We are starting to send home your child’s Learning Journal. Please watch this space it’ll be on its way very soon.

Tapestry Activities – Rachel has added an activity on Tapestry for you this week and it’s all about people who help us.  She has attached some photos of different roles in the community to help extend your child’s knowledge of the people within their communities and the world around them. There is a cutting sheet for your child to enjoy! Rachel has also included a couple of very short CBeebies clips to watch about different occupations. If your child enjoys this there are more ideas of how to explore this further and extend their learning, such as craft ideas or setting up role play at home!

Tapestry – For Rising Five parents, your child’s Tapestry profile will now be passed onto Mrs Bacon. Mrs Bacon will be taking this forward and will continue to use your child’s profile during their time in Reception.

Forest School – This week our Forest school is all about hunting for colours. Amanda has included an activity on Tapestry about matching and spotting colours of the rainbow. With the weather being very sunny and then raining the plants are growing well and there are lots of flowers opening. Your child could make a colour board and then go and find the same colour in your garden. Maybe they could make their own rainbow. For information and inspiration, take a look on Tapestry.

COVID 19 Procedures – We have been working hard to ensure that we have all our procedures up to date and these are now available for you to read on our website. You will see that we have put lots of additional procedures in place to keep you, your families and our staff safe.
