Makaton – Our chosen sign will be ‘food’.

Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have looked at the Indian Ocean and we’ve talked about the animals that live in the ocean and plastic pollution. We have learnt new Nursery Rhymes .. There’s a Hole in My Bucket, Goosey Goosey Gander and If You Go Down To the Woods Today. We have enjoyed lots of activities around those rhymes and we’ve read the books together. Thank you to everyone for taking part in World Book Day. The children joined in the assembly at John Clare and told everyone ‘who they were’, they were amazing! We do have a £1 World Book Day Voucher available, if you haven’t received one please ask a member of staff. This will be on a first come basis. We created some pirate ships with Nancy. We’ve had some brilliant structures built with our hollow blocks, in the builder’s yard.

Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week we will celebrate the Hindu festival, Holi. We will also start our Mother’s and Grandmother’s day activities.

Literacy – We will be sharing information on our Weekly updates over the upcoming weeks sharing ways you can support your child’s literacy development. This week we would like to share information about your local libraries, the nearest is Werrington. The library is free to join and you can join on line! It’s a free account for children and they can borrow up top 5 or 6 books. Libraries offer Rhymetime & Storytime sessions too! Please ask a member of staff if you would like any advice signing up to the library! It would be amazing to see your library experiences on Tapestry!
